Description

I found this cross while exploring a cemetery in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In the center are the initials IHS which means "IHS (also IHC), a monogram or symbol for the name Jesus, is a contraction of the Greek word for Jesus, which in Greek is spelled IHΣΟΥΣ." The traditional grape and vine symbolism represent Jesus's words, " I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in Me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from Me you can do nothing."
