Artist's Description
These cirrus clouds appeared over Lake Michigan at Sand Bay Town Park in Door County, Wisconsin. These clouds appear as wispy streaks in the sky, like a white or grey smear of paint. As with many types of clouds, cirrus clouds are named based on how they look. The word “cirrus” comes from a Latin word meaning “curl.”
