These cirrus clouds appeared over Lake Michigan at Sand Bay Town Park in Door County, Wisconsin. These clouds appear as wispy streaks in the sky, like a white or grey smear of paint. As with many types of clouds, cirrus clouds are named based on how they look. The word “cirrus” comes from a Latin word meaning “curl.”

In addition to his photography, over four decades Dave created pen and ink artwork including Door County, Wisconsin scenes as well as custom residential renderings. Dave is a retired United Methodist minister, having served churches in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
