Description
This privately owned lighthouse sits on the southeast shore of Grand Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The East Channel Lighthouse started operation in 1867 and warned incoming vessels of the narrow passage into Munising Bay in Lake Superior. This lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses on the Great Lakes as boat tours pass by on their way to the Pictured Rocks. I felt that rendering the image in sepia fit best the historical setting.
