Description

The Edith M. Becker is a registered Tall Ship schooner that sails out of the Sister Bay marina in Door County, Wisconsin. On a June night I went to the marina to capture the gorgeous sunset and the schooner was out for a sunset sail. It eclipsed the sun as it sailed toward the marina. This image is also available in square format or panorama format.

David, this image always grabs my eye in contests - just voted in the ships boats with sail contest - but it especially resonates with me because in 2016 I did a watercolor painting on Masa paper of a sail boat (smaller than this one) on a sea of red under a red sky with the setting sun showing through the sails behind the mast.
