Artist's Description

Trakai Island Castle (Lithuanian: Trakų salos pilis) is located in Trakai, Lithuania in Lake Galvė. The construction of the stone castle was begun in the 14th century. Trakai was one of the main centers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance. Over the centuries it fell into disrepair and a major reconstruction project was finished in 1961. Trakai Island Castle is now a major tourist attraction. I captured this image in 2008 while on a mission trip. Note the four different modes of transportation.
