Description

Jaume Plensa is primarily a figurative artist, often using ideas about language and communication in his sculptures and installations. This is a detail of the head of one of three figures, on exhibit at the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose shells are made of stainless steel letters. Faces are left unfinished to encourage the universality of the forms. This high-contrast image suggests the question "What's on your mind?"
