Description
While doing some photography in March at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers, Florida I saw this White Ibis land on a branch nearby. I slowly moved in to get a close portrait of this bird. The ibis, standing on one leg, began to preen itself with its long beak. I really liked the turned-back head and how the feathers were fluffed out on the back. In addition, the spring green growth in the background contrasts nicely with the dead growth on the branch.
