Description
The Cana Island Lighthouse in Door County, Wisconsin, is currently used as an active navigational aid under the jurisdiction of the United States Coast Guard and is a museum. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. This lighthouse was built in 1869, and first lit in 1870. The light itself is a third order Fresnel lens that was made in France. This image was captured on a clear March day with deep blue skies and the ice still clinging to the shore.

What a beautiful view! I like the repetition of the white in the light house to compliment the snowy ice! L/F
